Introduction of Cast Steel Globe Valves

Cast Steel Globe Valves are linear motion closing-down valves in which the closure member is moved squarely on and off the seat. Usually the closure member is referred as a disc, irrespective of its shape. The seat opening varies in direct proportion to the travel of the disc. This proportional relationship between valve opening and disc travel is ideally suited for duties involving regulation of flow rate. Cast Steel Globe Valves are most suitable for throttling and controlling fluid flow and are generally employed in small size piping.Cast Steel Globe Valves design necessitates two changes in the direction of flow and this causes resistance in liquid lines and objectionable pressure drop. Working principle for Cast Steel Globe Valves

The cast steel stop valve consists of a movable disc and a fixed ring seat located in a roughly spherical body. It is mainly designed to stop, start and regulate flow. It is located in the middle of the pipeline and parallel to the pipeline. The opening on the valve seat is closed by the valve disc. . When the handle is turned manually or by an actuator, the valve disc is lowered or raised by the valve stem. When the valve disc is fully lowered, fluid flow is cut off. When the disc is fully raised, fluid flow reaches its maximum rate. When the disc is raised below the maximum level, the fluid flow rate is adjusted in proportion to the vertical travel of the disc.
